Overview
CT Speed Lab (“CT Speed Lab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a youth athletic training platform based in Fairfield, Connecticut. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children and teenagers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your data.
By using the CT Speed Lab app or website (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account Information
- Name (athlete’s first and last name)
- Email address (athlete or parent/guardian)
- Date of birth (to verify age and apply appropriate protections)
- Password (stored as a secure, one-way hash — never in plain text)
Athlete Profile Data
- Sport(s), program type (Distance or Speed & Agility)
- Experience level and weekly training availability
- Race and sprint times entered during intake or PR tracking
- Training zones, pace targets, and archetype assignment derived from your submitted times
- Workout logs, perceived effort ratings, and coach notes you choose to record
- Personal Records (PRs) for 400m, 800m, 1600m, and 3200m
Payment Information
Payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. We do not store credit card numbers, CVV codes, or full payment account details on our servers. Stripe provides us with a tokenized reference and billing status. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.
Device & Usage Data
- Device type and operating system (iOS/Android)
- App version and crash logs
- Feature usage patterns (e.g., screens viewed, workout completion rates)
- IP address and approximate geographic region
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs and do not track users across other apps or websites for advertising purposes.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Personalized Training: Calculating training zones, generating workout plans, predicting race times, and assigning your athlete archetype based on your physiological profile.
- Account Management: Creating and maintaining your account, authenticating logins, and communicating important account-related updates.
- Payment Processing: Initiating and managing subscription billing through Stripe.
- Customer Support: Responding to questions, troubleshooting issues, and processing account or data deletion requests.
- Service Improvement: Analyzing aggregate, anonymized usage data to improve the app and training methodology.
- Safety & Security: Detecting fraud, unauthorized access, and other potentially harmful activities.
We do not use your data to serve advertisements, and we do not sell or rent personal information to third-party marketers.
Third Parties & Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information to third parties. We share data only in the limited circumstances below:

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CT Speed Lab, our users, or the public.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
🐺 Our platform is designed for youth athletes ages 11–18.
We take the privacy of minors seriously and comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state laws.
- Parental/Guardian Consent Required: Athletes under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian review and consent to these terms during account registration. We collect a parent/guardian name and email during sign-up for users under 18.
- No Targeted Advertising to Minors: We never serve behavioral advertising to users under 18, and we do not share minors’ personal data with advertising networks.
- Limited Data Collection: We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the training service. We do not collect social media identifiers, precise geolocation, or unnecessary personal details from minors.
- Parental Access & Control: Parents or guardians may review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s data at any time by contacting us at privacy@ctspeedlab.com.
- No Accounts for Children Under 11: Our Service is not directed to children under 11 years of age. If we discover we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 11, we will delete it promptly.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations.
Requesting Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by:
- Emailing privacy@ctspeedlab.com with subject line “Data Deletion Request”
- Visiting ctspeedlab.com and using the account settings deletion option
We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Some data may be retained for a limited period to comply with legal, tax, or accounting requirements (e.g., payment transaction records), after which it will be permanently deleted.
Workout & Training Data
Training logs, PR records, and workout history are deleted when you delete your account. We do not retain identifiable training data after account deletion.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Passwords stored using bcrypt hashing (never in plain text)
- Access controls limiting who within our team can access user data
- Regular security reviews
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@ctspeedlab.com.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (see above)
- Port your data to another service
- Object to certain processing activities
